We're proud to celebrate the collective achievements of our students and our program.
With over two hundred students participating daily, our program thrives with vibrant choral ensembles ranging from beginning to advanced levels, including mixed, men’s, and women’s groups. MVHS Choirs have toured to Carnegie Hall, been featured in regional and state music educators conferences, and toured annually to competitions and festivals around the country.
Students in the Mountain View High School Choral Program are consistently named to All State Jazz, All State Jazz Clinic, Region Choir, and All State Concert Choir. MVHS choir ensembles consistently receive superior ratings at festivals around Arizona and the country.
Most recently, the choir program has been given the opportunity, along with band and orchestra, to house the Mesa Public Schools’ first music conservatory program. This program prepares students for a future in music education, music performance, or music industry by providing additional class offerings, ending with a music seal of excellence provided for the student’s diploma upon graduation.
Students who are a part of this program graduate with experience in class piano, music and culture, history of western music, and AP music theory. This program is the first of its kind, not only in MPS, but the state of Arizona as well.
The MVHS choral department staff currently includes two full-time directors, a part-time accompanist, two part-time voice coaches, and a part-time jazz combo.
At the heart of the Toro Choir program are our passionate and dedicated conductors. Their commitment to nurturing talent and inspiring excellence drives our students to achieve their full potential. With a blend of experience, creativity, and a deep love for music, our conductors guide each choir to new heights, ensuring that every performance is a memorable experience.
